A good black slate French mantel clock with visible escapement. The movement having a Brocot escapement, is brass construction and very good quality. It is designed to run eight full days and strike each hour on a bell. This clock will also strike once at each half hour. The back plate of the movement is die stamped by the prominent Maker Samuel Marti.  It has Samuel Marti’s Medaille de Bronze stamp which dates it to approximately 1860.  In good working order.

1860 - Medaille de Bronze, Paris {noted at clockswatches.com as a Japy movement with the Marti name on it}
