A beautiful rare miniature apprentice chest of drawers in mahogany. This miniature example of a Scottish chest had been made as an apprentice piece and then used as a travelling salesman sample. This is an exact miniature of the original Scottish ogee chest. The long graduated drawers with veneered fronts, cock beading, turned handles and original escutcheons are all beautifully dovetailed. This piece also separates like full sized chest and retains its original polish with good colour and patina. (See photo of its full size brother).

Would also make a fantastic jewellery cabinet.

Circa 1870

Height 18" (46cm)
Width 12.25" (31cm)
Depth 7" (18cm)
